Episode 85: Pride Month History: John Money & Alfred Kinsey

As we approach what America has labeled as “pride month,” it is helpful to know two of the men whose ideas are often most celebrated as central to the LGBTQ movement, John Money & Alfred Kinsey. Warning, this episode is graphic and disturbing. But the facts of history ought to be wrestled with as we navigate these discussions.

  1. I thought there would be a sermon on this issue in June.

I’m glad you are aware of the Reimer twins. The book, As Nature Made Him: The Boy Who Was Raised as a Girl, by John Colapinto was horrifying and heartbreaking. I read it years ago and then gave it to an out of town friend. I recently bought another copy because I thought it would be a helpful in discussions about the current “trans” movement. Imagine my surprise when I learned they use David’s story in exactly the opposite way: David Reimer wasn’t REALLY trans. That’s why it didn’t work for him.

It’s all so sick. How do we stop the abuse and mutilation being done to children? Churches must address this issue.
